Throw Back Max is a distinct company that looks to do things a little bit different when it come to providing us with an interesting “old” twist to apparel. Throw Back Max proudly differentiated themselves from modern day athletic companies in one special way: “While companies like Nike and Reebok were spending millions to design and promote gear for current teams to achieve a vintage look and feel…we [TBM] wanted to do the exact opposite. Our goal was to research, cultivate and design a line of apparel with the logos and colors of defunct teams and make them look fresh and modern.”
When simply preserving the integrity and natural state of traditional logos and designs, Throw Back Max really captures the origin and legacy of these iconic images.
“Finding an old football logo and slapping it on a ringer tee wasn’t good enough for us. We wanted to take vintage sports team logos and incorporate them into a new and eye-catching design to screen-print them using the finest inks and screens made today to offer them on the best garments available and most importantly to breath new life into them. “

On June 4, 2012, the Philippines Men’s National Team signed a 3 year contract with Puma at the Discover Suits Hotel in Manila. This was a big day of Philippines Football Federation along with their Senior Team, more commonly know as the “Azkals.” For any teams, transitioning from one brand to another means a few changes in marketing but a huge surge in interest from the general public, especially for fans around the world. The buzz around my teammates signing as brand ambassadors had to have been the highlight for me. Seeing the exciting new chapter open for these iconic players in the Philippines really humbles a person and makes you appreciate all that comes with playing the beautiful sport. The Philippines’ progress has been a long time coming and plenty of players, coaches and fans have dedicated their lives to improving such a process. I am lucky and bless to be apart of the adventure.
This weekend we had a chance to connect with a special brand with the newest inspirations out of Philadelphia. We often see fashion and design motivated by daily life or love, and in this day in age common interest and the shared passion amongst young urban professionals have created an even larger source of inspiration. Creator and founder, Ebun of Live Breathe Futbol, gives us insight on the story behind his new urban clothing brand, that mixes city, culture, and love of the game that we know. Follow Ebun and his brand as he takes us into the inspiration that drives LIVE, BREATHE, FUTBOL.
Who is the creator and what is his vision?
By now the trusty brand Who Are Ya Designs, has burst into the football scene making appearances in the media, on celebs, with pro players and on fans across the world. I had a chance to catch up with creative director Chris Williams. With big plans to release his seasonal designs, Chris explains a little bit more about the company and how a growing brand has larger plans than just selling awesome shirts: “Promoting the love of football in the US isn’t the only goal of this t-shirt company. Who Are Ya Designs has teamed up with several non-profit organizations to help fulfill their missions. Seattle Scores, an organization which builds leadership and teamwork skills and boosts literacy through fun activities for under served children in the Seattle area and most recently UNICEF to help with the disaster in Haiti.”
Gotta Give a BIG shout to my man Mabricio Wilson creative visionary and founder of FUTBOLR. A New Yorker and fellow neighbor in the great Great Big Apple, Mabricio has transformed a casual street wear image into an rapidly growing lifestyle brand, for soccer players and fans around the world. Nothing better than a classic throw back. Definately brings you back to the good ole days. Nothing says bring in the new year with fresh new oldies. Now, if you’re like me and you enjoy a good collar, then you’ll prefer the subtle difference in the Firdbird track suit insted. Either way, both nice for yourself or a fellow player in mind.
